Mother's Day at the Zoo

I just happened to show up at the Library last Friday and there was a cultural pass for the Zoo. That got us 4 adult admissions for free to the Zoo, so it was perfect timing for Mother's Day.

My parent's joined us and we got there around 10am. It was nice outside still and there weren't too many people. It was a great time to go. We saw some animals first including the reptiles, lion, tiger, rhino, and monkeys. The kids loved it. We then went back to the Giraffes and on to the splash pad. We had brought the kids' bathing suits and were prepared for a wet day. They loved the water. It was great that they added that to the zoo experience. It started to get warmer and it definitely cooled things down. We then went around to the lake and ate lunch near the other splash pad. Then more water time at the cave splash pad. Brody was a little bit timid with the slides and Trace was going head first into the unknown! Classically their personalities. Cole was off and running playing with the kids and splashing all around. We then saw more monkeys and made our way to the Orangutans. We ended with a ride on the carousel and snow cones for everyone.

The day was great and I'm so glad we were able to go for FREE! That makes it twice as good.
