We kicked off Christmas with a Christmas Eve Eve night with out neighbors the Karowski's. We had Hot Chocolate and candy canes and exchanged gifts. We visited with them until 1am. It was great.
On Christmas Eve we went to service at 4:00pm at DBCC with the kids and then opened our Christmas Jammies with Grammy and Pappa, read the Christmas Story, and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas movie. Family time is my most favorite time!
So, Christmas morning they woke up happy and ready for the day. Not too early. We did stalkings first then presents. I think Justin and I were more excited than they were to do presents this year.
For sure presents are not the focus of Christmas but it sure can be fun.
We got all the kids Glider/Strider bikes this year and I was tentative thinking they ought to go just to little 12" bikes. Justin felt sure they would love them. They are supposed to help the kids learn to steer and balance before peddling. They LOVE them!
Of course they each got their own coordinating color, Green, Red, and Blue. They ride them constantly out in the col-de-sac. That was their big gift and after that the most fun were the Disney character figurines and the pirate ship we got for the twins. Ginger and Chris gave them a new collection of swords which of course are IT!
After presents we prepared for lunch with Grammy and Pappa and Jarom and Charla. We were glad that Jarom and Charla made it up because we already had SPLOOZEBELLS plans with them and Josh and Kara for January 1st. We had a nice calm lunch with my parents while the boys played out front and rode their new bikes. Jarom and Charla were here for dinner and it was nice to visit with them while the boys watched a new movie and played together.
We decorated cookies, sang Happy Birthday to Jesus with a cake and candles, and enjoyed the awesome weather.
If you ask the boys what Christmas is about, they will tell you it is Jesus' Birthday and that is what it is all about.
