Sacramento, Easter, and our Trip to Hanford

In early April we drove up to Sacramento for the Hone's Anniversary Party and to see Bobby and Alisa. It was a week long trip that started with the Anniversary and ended in Hanford visiting G&G Martin.

The Anniversary Party was nice.  Grandma and Grandpa Hone celebrated 50 years and we got a chance to see all of Grandma Sheri's siblings and their children.  This might be last time in a long time that we get a visit like that.  The kids did a great job and enjoyed playing with all the other kids.

That weekend in Sacramento we celebrated Easter.  I had tried to plan a way for us to maintain our Easter traditions while away from home but found it very difficult.  We did get to attend church in Elk Grove and hide Easter Eggs for the kids which they loved of course.  Hopefully next year we will be able to settle into home and do some Lent and Passover traditions.  But we most definitely loved spending time with the Bell's and always appreciate their hospitality.

We then made the trek down to Hanford to spend time with Doug and Stacey. The kids were very excited to see them.  We spent about 4 days having fun.  We went to see horses and cows for a BBQ with friends of Doug and Stacey's.  We launched water balloons and went to the park.  Taylor stayed with us while her parents headed back to Phoenix which made it a lot of fun for Cole.

Of course our drive home ended in disaster as our van broke down 80 miles outside of Phoenix causing our 10 hour drive to be about 12 and getting us home around 11:00pm.  The kids seemed to handle it well, watching a movie in the van while we waited for a tow truck driver and Randy to come and pick us up.  Needless to say we were so, so glad to finally be home!
