Lacey and Richard's Wedding

The time has finally arrived for us to make the trip to Hanford, CA for Lacey and Richard's wedding. The months have flown by and I can't believe it is October. We decided to take everyone out for the event, drive out, and spend the weekend with family. Justin has been working in Las Vegas two nights a week since the end of September/beginning October so he was in LV starting on Tuesday. The kids and I, along with my dad so that I'm didn't drive alone, headed to LV on Thursday afternoon to stop for the night and get Justin.

While we were in LV we took the kids, quickly, to the Castle Hotel (Excalibur) to go to the arcade and play games.  They each won a stuffed animal and had a fun time.  They were very excited to be back at the hotel we'd visited this past summer with my parents.  

My dad stayed in LV with Andrea and Nik while we were gone and we finished the trip to Hanford on Friday, arriving around dinner time-ish. The kids were so excited to get there, not to mention that we were also glad considering the driving with 4 kids! :)

They did great on the drive the first day. Not much ado about anything. They watched movies and ate snacks mostly being pretty quiet. I was so glad since it was me and my dad. The second day with Justin they were a little restless and not as satisfied with the movies as the first day. They still did pretty good considering the time it took to get there.

Once we arrived they were out of the car and busy playing. There were other kids there, Taylor, Colin, Morgyn, and Aunt Kim's grand baby. On Saturday during the day Josh and Kara's friends came over with their kids, made marshmallow guns and played on the trampoline. I barely saw them while they were busy playing. We stayed in Doug's friends RV Trailer which was so nice. We had the space to ourselves, beds to sleep in, and plenty of room. It was a comfortable situation for us.

On Friday night when we arrived we headed over to Ricky's Aunts house for a BBQ dinner and to meet the families. The kids played outside in the backyard while we ate Mexican burritos and chips and salsa. It was very tasty! There was a playhouse in the backyard, built like a log cabin with window treatments and everything. The kids were in heaven.

On Saturday we attended the Vow exchange, took family pictures, and celebrated at the reception. Aside from it being much warmer than we had expected and being a little overdressed and hot in the beginning, it was a great night. Once the sun went down it was very nice and comfortable. The reception was beautiful and very well put together. The decorations were so nice and the whole thing was wonderful. I'm so glad we decided to go and take the kids!

There were so many people there I'm glad we got to see as well. G&G Swallow, Kim, Tammy and Jamie, Jenna and her new husband, and at the wedding we saw Grandma Martin, Diane, and Dana and their families. It was so great!

Cole and Taylor danced during the songs Richard and Lacey were dancing to. It was so cute. They really play nicely together.

Justin and Josh had practiced and rehearsed a special performance for Lacey. They sang a melody of songs for her playing the Ukulele' and the Bongo drums. It really came out so nicely. They did a great job. It sounded awesome, even on that DJ sound equipment. I was so proud of them!

Sunday we packed up early and headed home with the kids. They did a great job getting packed up and ready to leave. The drive was nice b/c they slept some of the way, finally, and watched movies. We stopped in LV again, to drop off Justin and pick up my dad so that I could finish the drive to Phoenix on Monday.

We had dinner at the Hone's house and visited with the kids. It was nice to chat with them, see their new baby and eat a home cooked meal after driving. The kids played great together. There are some cute pics of them at the bottom all dressed up in play clothes! Karter and Cole seemed to hit it right off!

After dinner with the Hone's we visited with my sister and Nik at their new condo LV. It is super cute and they are in a cute little neighborhood. The kids enjoyed the stairs and teasing the dog. Then home for a quick sleep before heading to Phoenix.

The drive to Phoenix was harder than the day before, my dad seemed to be driving at a snails pace although I think it just felt that way and wasn't really the case. Whatever it was, it took forever....but we finally made it home, unpacked, and settled into life again. It was a great trip and hopefully we won't be driving out there any time soon!!!
