Campland on the Bay

My parents took us to San Diego two weeks ago to enjoy a wonderful week at Campland on the Bay.  It was AWESOME!!  

We got a great spot where my parents could fully hook up their RV and the boys (and Brynn) slept in a tent right outside.  

The weather was incredible all week.  A light breeze, sunny, but not too hot.  We spent time at the pools, the beach at the bay so there weren't too many waves, it was just right.  The kids played in the sand, sat in the water, swam out to the platform in the bay and jumped off...It was so nice.

Campland had plenty of nightly activities and some during the day that the kids could participate in. We watched a talent show, had a dance night which Brynn loved.  She could have danced all night to the music.  She even got up one night howled like a wolf, which is their camp mascot.  She was so brave!  She said, "I'm Brynnie and I'm 4."  She's actually 3. It was so cute.

We rode our bikes all over the property, spent time at the park, then back to the pool.  One day my parents and us rented a jet ski and took the kids out into the bay.  It was a little chilly when moving but still awesome.  The kids enjoyed the speed of the jet ski.  We had a great time.  We could pull it right into the bay where we were set up on the beach and just trade on and off all day.

We also went into Mission Bay one of the days, rode the rides and Bellmont Part, had some pizza, and played in the waves while building sand structures Justin could bury the kids in. They had a sandy, lovely, wonderful, sandy time.

We went into San Diego harbor one day so the boys and my parents along with Justin and Brynn could take a ride on a Pirate Ship in the harbor.  It was an hour and a half ride around the harbor on a real looking pirate ship, with people dressed up as real pirates, talking pirate talk and teaching them about sailing like a pirate.  They even had to swab the deck!

The kids loved it.  Westin and I hung out at the Sheraton hotel for the afternoon, grabbed a few drinks, had an appetizer, and relaxed in the awesome weather while the were on their voyage.  

It was a very relaxing, slow moving vacation, which is always nice, which included all the things they love: Riding Bikes, swimming, playing at the park, playing in the sand, music and ice cream, and sleeping in a tent! 

I'm thankful to my parents for providing such an awesome summer trip for us this year.  Making memories!
